- Full-time
- Remote (some travels to UK and LV can be requested/ once per 3 months)
- 2 interviews
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: first contract for 6 months + extension (long-term project)

- Client: big media company in UK
Scope:
- Advocate for the best user experience at all times, ensuring that research insights and data are central to all design decisions
- Oversee and direct the work of more junior UX team members, ensuring high quality delivery from concept to build specification
- Work collaboratively in a multi disciplinary team, with Product Managers, Developers, Delivery managers, representing UX in daily routines and rituals
- Engage the team and key stakeholders in the user-centred design process, planning and facilitating workshops, activities and discussions
- Gather and shape UX requirements from multiple inputs
- Select the most appropriate methodologies for the UX challenge at hand, and create a wide range of artefacts as needed, e.g. mapping experiences, creating sketches, concepts, user journeys, wireframes, and prototypes
- Effectively communicate the reasoning behind concepts, methods and approaches to different audiences
- Work with internal Design Research experts or Research agencies to conduct international user research as appropriate
- Proactively collaborate with other members of BBC UX&D to ensure horizontal thinking and alignment between BBC products
- Work transparently and proactively share work to ensure good visibility at every stage of the design process
Requirements:
- 3+ years in a lead or Senior UXD role
- An extensive portfolio of work across different screens and systems.
- A good understanding of a variety of video playback experiences
- Strong UX and UI craft skills to produce high quality, accessible design solutions
- Proficiency using Figma and other design tools, and collaboration/planning tools such as Jira
- Excellent planning and organising skills
- Excellent written, spoken and presentation skills
- Can prioritise and plan and manage own workload and those of others, perform well under pressure and meet multiple, tight deadlines.
- Pragmatism in balancing feasibility and constraints with the best user experiences
- Aware of the latest design trends and technology developments.
- Good stakeholder management, and proactivity in building stakeholder relationships
- Degree or equivalent experience.
