Senior Python Developer /Contract / Czech

For one of our clients, we are looking for a Senior Python Developer.

Job details:

• Full Remote, with few travelling days required throughout the year in Prague
• Full-time
• 6 months (extensions possible)
• Working Hours: Must be able to overlap with US hours (9-6/10-7 CET)

Scope:

We’re seeking a senior or AI-savvy mid-level engineer who is highly proficient in async Python/FastAPI and has strong Azure cloud expertise. You should be comfortable building low-latency APIs, optimizing PostgreSQL at scale, and collaborating closely with Data Science and Frontend teams. Fluency with AI coding assistants is essential for accelerated development in our fast-paced environment. Experience with LLM integration is a plus, but willingness to learn and adapt is equally important. You’ll work across multiple projects with varying architectures (3 active, 3 upcoming), so flexibility, pragmatic problem-solving, and strong collaboration skills are key to success in this role. Architectural Excellence: Work within a modern microservices architecture using Docker and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

• Async-First Development: Building low-latency FastAPI microservices (1–6 per project) using advanced async/await patterns.
• Real-Time & Background Tasks: Implementing WebSockets for live updates and robust background processing systems with built-in retries and idempotency.
• Database Optimization: Managing complex PostgreSQL environments, utilizing JSONB-aware queries, and configuring high-volume connection pooling (up to 200).
• Kubernetes Orchestration: Containerizing services with Docker and managing deployments via Helm charts on Azure (AKS).
• State & Cache Management: Leveraging Redis for performance caching and Azure Blob Storage for large-scale document workflows.
• Reliability: Handling environment-driven configurations, startup migrations, and comprehensive structured logging/monitoring.
• LLM Pipelines: Integrating OpenAI and LangChain to build domain-specific analytics and valuation tools.
• Advanced Retrieval: Developing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems using Azure AI Search and vector databases.
• Performance Decoupling: Ensuring heavy AI/document processing (PDF/Excel) doesn’t block request threads or spike P95 latency.
• Schema Design: Creating multi-tenant PostgreSQL architectures with strict ACID compliance and specialized Cosmos DB NoSQL workloads.
• Security: Implementing JWT-secured access, CORS policies, and rigorous transaction management.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Working with Data Science to productionize prompts and Frontend teams to define seamless API contracts.
• AI-Augmented Coding: Using tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot to maintain high development velocity without sacrificing code quality.
