Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join their international Client & Market Technology team based in Lisbon, Portugal.

The successful consultant will support the development and enhancement of modern digital solutions powering global e-commerce, omni-channel retail, and order management platforms for a leading luxury retail organization.

Working within an Agile environment, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, DevOps Engineers, QA Engineers, and Software Engineers to deliver scalable, cloud-native applications using modern Java and React technologies.

Scope:

The successful consultant will be responsible for:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based microservices supporting omni-channel retail and order management processes.
• Developing modern frontend applications using React and Next.js.
• Designing and implementing scalable REST APIs following API-first principles.
• Building integrations with retail platforms, POS systems, and enterprise applications.
• Working with event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging solutions.
• Maintaining and enhancing existing applications, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Investigating and resolving production issues alongside Support and DevOps teams.
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and cloud-native deployment processes.
• Collaborating with QA teams to improve automated testing and software quality.
• Participating in architecture discussions and driving continuous technical improvements.
• Actively participating in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Skills:

Backend Development

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong expertise with: Java 21,  Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Cloud
• Proven experience building microservices architectures
• Experience with event-driven applications
• Strong REST API development (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• GraphQL
• JSON, XML, HTTP
