Our client is currently executing a major SAP Cloud transformation and is looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to drive the adoption and technical delivery of the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). The role requires leading technical product teams, establishing a BTP Center of Excellence, and ensuring a smooth road to S/4HANA by driving standardization and simplification.
 

Scope:

• Act as the Senior Platform Engineer and technical reference for the SAP BTP Cloud team.
• Lead technical deliveries with assigned product teams and participate in respective workstreams.
• Assume responsibility for assigned projects, driving day-to-day SAP Cloud transformations and supporting S/4HANA roadmaps.
• Manage BTP subaccounts, define and enforce internal SAP BTP guidelines, and shape the product team’s roadmap.
• Architect, code, test, and implement complex software services and scripts using SAP BTP and modern Cloud Development Frameworks on hyperscalers.
• Proactively provide definitive expert advice, supporting and promoting knowledge sharing within the global SAP community.
• Define complex integration builds, system integration plans, database designs, and automated testing frameworks.
• Monitor system availability, service level agreements (SLAs), release components, and capacity management.
• If required, handle resource management, including candidate recruitment, work allocation, and workload monitoring.
• Act as a key relationship point between Global IT, business functions (GOPS, Finance, HR, Brand Marketing, Wholesale/Retail), HR Management, and Controlling.

Skills:

Primary skills:

• Strong SAP background with extensive knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).
• Proven experience architecting and implementing modern Cloud Development Frameworks on hyperscalers.
• Strong technical leadership and system design skills (modeling patterns, database concepts, and data warehouse principles).
• Direct experience steering integration builds, environment configurations, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Managing stakeholders at a senior level, handling relationship management, and resolving complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and advisory skills with the ability to bridge technical and business design discussions.
• At least 7+ years of total experience in IT, with 5+ years of specific experience in the relevant SAP BTP/Cloud area.
• English – Fluent (Proficient spoken and written command).

 
Travel Requirements:

• Onsite presence at the client headquarters as required by project delivery milestones and team alignment needs.

 
Additional Information:

• Strong understanding and knowledge of regional and global market landscapes are essential.
• Prior experience in managing critical elements of cross-functional and regional projects is a strong advantage.
• Approximately 2 years of experience in team management or leading technical delivery teams is highly beneficial.
