Scope:

• Operating, monitoring, and supporting productive applications and their underlying AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Monitoring applications and infrastructure components and troubleshooting incidents, errors, and operational issues.
• Managing security findings and implementing required patching and update activities.
• Developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Administering and optimizing Kubernetes clusters and related infrastructure configurations.
• Supporting deployment and operation of containerized applications using Docker, Helm, Flux, and GitOps principles.
• Analyzing and resolving deployment and release management issues.
• Managing AWS IAM roles, permissions, and cloud security configurations.
• Supporting the integration and operation of PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS RDS.
• Managing secrets, encryption mechanisms, and security services using AWS Secrets Manager and AWS KMS.
• Operating and enhancing monitoring and logging solutions based on Grafana and OpenSearch.
• Supporting and maintaining Kafka infrastructure using Amazon MSK Serverless.
• Optimizing Kubernetes node scaling and resource management using Karpenter.
• Maintaining and improving automated dependency management and update processes using Renovate.
• Developing and supporting AWS Lambda functions using Python.
• Investigating infrastructure, deployment, database, IAM, and integration-related issues and developing appropriate technical solutions.
• Creating and maintaining operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
• Driving standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of operational processes and platform reliability.
• Supporting the preparation of the platform and associated operational processes for increased availability and service-level requirements.

Skills:

• Operational experience running production IT applications in cloud infrastructures. min. 3 years
• Experience in configuration and administration of AWS cloud infrastructures, min. 3 years
• Experience with Kubernetes as a container platform for provisioning and managing containerized applications, min. 3 years
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or OpenTofu, min. 3 years
• Experience operating business‑critical applications with established incident management processes, up to 3 years
• German C1/fluent

Nice to have:

• AWS cloud platform competence, ≤3 years
• Experience with containerized applications, e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, Helm or GitOps, ≤3 years
• Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu for automated provisioning and configuration of infrastructure, ≤3 years
• Monitoring, logging and technical error analysis, ≤3 years
• AWS cloud security, e.g. IAM, secrets, encryption, ≤3 years
• Experience in IT operations management,  ≤3 years
• Deployment and release automation, ≤3 years
