Position: Data Engineer L3 / Data Analyst / Data Scientist
Location: 100% Remote (with occasional travel)

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer L3 / Data Analyst / Data Scientist to join a Quality Data & Cloud Competence Center (QDCC) initiative. The role focuses on building analytical solutions that enable preventive anomaly exploration and support data-driven quality management across engineering, development, and operations.
This is a fully remote position, with occasional travel to the client site in Stuttgart, Germany (approximately 2 nights per quarter).
German language skills are strongly preferred due to close collaboration with business stakeholders.
Scope:
- Design, develop, and support end-to-end QDCC data products and analytical solutions.
- Analyze quality, process, and product data to identify anomalies and improvement opportunities.
- Develop analytical models, KPIs, and reporting that support quality and operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders across Quality, Development, and Operations.
- Translate analytical findings into rule-based monitoring concepts (experience is beneficial but not mandatory).
- Implement both functional and non-functional data requirements.
- Prepare management-ready dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
- Document code, data products, and technical solutions according to PITT standards.
- Ensure compliance with IT security and governance standards defined by the client.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (SCRUM / SAFe).
Skills:
- Strong experience with Python
- Advanced SQL development and optimization
- Experience with Apache Spark (Batch; Streaming is a plus)
- Experience working with distributed data systems and modern data architectures
- Data modeling and optimization using Apache Iceberg: Table design, Partitioning strategies, Performance optimization
- Experience with Cloudera or enterprise data platforms
- Experience using: GitLab, Jira, Confluence
- Ability to create executive-level visualizations and analytical reports
