Role Summary:

We are sourcing a senior system builder who also leads execution, not an advisory strategist. Success will be measured by delivery, enforceability, and clarity of long-term ownership, not by volume of content produced

This role must:

  • build the system
  • lead execution of the content squad during activation
  • prove what long-term capability is required to sustain it
  •

This is not a content creation role. This is a system-builder and execution-leader role.

Responsibilities:

Design, operationalize, and validate a content systems model that enables AI to reliably retrieve, route, and trust content in the flow of work, while owning execution of the content squad during activation and recommending the long-term operating model required to sustain the capability.

The Content Systems Lead will:

System Design and Activation

  • Define enforceable content standards suitable for a federated enterprise
  • Define what “AI-ready content” means at a system level
  • Establish shared metadata that supports AI retrieval and trust
  • Design and test content lifecycle and governance models
  • Partner with product, platform, and AI teams to validate feasibility

Content Squad Execution (Non-Negotiable)

  • Own and lead execution of the content squad
  • Own the content squad backlog and delivery sequencing
  • Run day-to-day execution and required ceremonies
  • Own content execution in delivery systems (e.g., ADO)
  • Drive delivery against timelines and surface risks
  • Act as the single execution owner during activation
  • Ensure execution does not rely on Experience Design

Long-Term Capability Definition

  • Identify where execution friction occurs and why
  • Recommend the long-term ownership, roles, and resourcing required
  • Produce system-ready artifacts and a validated operating model

Required Experience

  • Designing content or knowledge systems at enterprise scale
  • Leading execution in ambiguous, cross-functional environments
  • Owning backlogs and delivery within product or platform teams
  • Defining standards and governance that are enforced, not aspirational
  • Working closely with product and engineering teams
  • Exposure to AI-enabled search, retrieval, or recommendation systems
  • Experience transitioning discovery work into operating models

This engagement is successful when:

  • The content squad delivers independently of Experience Design
  • AI systems can reliably retrieve and trust content
  • Content standards and governance are operational and tested through execution
  • The organization has a clear, evidence-based recommendation for:
    – where this capability should live
    – what roles are required
    – what ongoing investment is needed

The engagement will conclude with:

  • Operational content standards and governance
  • A validated content systems model
  • Execution-tested proof of what it takes to run this capability
  • A recommendation for long-term ownership and resourcing

Leadership will then decide how the capability is sustained.
